Napier Collyns, Advisor

Mr. Collyns is a cofounder of Global Business Network, a pioneer in scenario planning an analysis. Until recently he was a senior associate of Cambridge Energy Research Associates and a public director of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).

Before joining GBN, Napier spent more than 30 years in the international oil industry, mostly with companies of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group in Venezuela, Nigeria, New York, London, and The Hague. He was a senior member of the small team at Shell that developed scenario planning in the early 1970s under the leadership of Pierre Wack.

Napier has master's degrees in history from the University of Cambridge and Brown University. He was a consultant to the eight-part public television series, Oil, and to Daniel Yergin°s Pulitzer Prize-winning history of the oil industry, The Prize. Napier resides in New York City, Berkeley, and London. He is married with five sons and 11 grandchildren.
 

Ed Hirs III, Advisor

Mr. Hirs, CFA, has been principal and CEO of Hirs & Company and its predecessor, Niven Associates, since 1992, serving as an independent adviser for transactions totaling more than $2.3 billion. He advises company directors and shareholders on mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings, and he works with companies on valuation matters.

Mr. Hirs has 25 years of corporate finance experience with venture capital start-ups, private equity transactions, and Fortune 500, Forbes 500 Private, and INC 500 companies.

He is a lecturer in economics at the University of Houston and leads review sessions for continuing legal education seminars for the UH Law Foundation. He holds a MBA, a MA in economics, and a BA in economics from Yale University.
