A major need in international development is disseminating
project information widely and transparently, across stakeholders.
Innovative Research Management hired Ishtirak to create a tailored,
'annotatable' networking application that would allow constituent
subcontractors to post and edit profiles and disseminate information
on project activities to prospective partners and contributors.
As a part of this same effort, Ishtirak compiled extensive lists
of companies and foundations with regional interests.
Ishtirak (and its predecessor, Visible Hand) has assisted with networking, fundraising and strategy for a number of organizations, including
Karama, the
Mauritius Wildlife Preservation Foundation, the Saharan Studies Association and
Meedan.
