A major need in international development is disseminating
project information widely and transparently, across stakeholders.
Innovative Research Management hired Ishtirak to create a tailored,
'annotatable' networking application that would allow constituent
subcontractors to post and edit profiles and disseminate information
on project activities to prospective partners and contributors.
As a part of this same effort, Ishtirak compiled extensive lists
of companies and foundations with regional interests.
Ishtirak (and its predecessor, Visible Hand) has assisted with networking, fundraising and strategy for a number of organizations, including the
Mauritius Wildlife Preservation Foundation,
American Institute of Maghrib Studies, the Saharan Studies Association and
Meadan. Ishtirak is currently working with the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. to establish a program to exhibit and catalogue digital works by Arab and Persian artists.
